This is dangerous junction for pedestrians to negotiate. The pedestrian path, such as it is, is very narrow. The lack of a proper path seems to encourage pedestrians, having crossed the slip road for the northbound carriageway of the A1(M), to cross another carriageway for fast traffic onto the roundabout then another for traffic coming off the roundabout. How are parents and carers accompanying young children, wheelchair users and unaccompanied children expected to negotiate this junction? Does vehicular traffic have to dominate here? Pedestrians are not allowed? Wider, properly surfaced pavements and pelican crossings are needed.
